I’ve asked a few people to contribute mixes to the blog, and I was lucky enough to get this little beauty from Stopmakingme. It’s absolutely awesome, as you might expect from the Kill Em All/AITBF regular, one to get on the D/L for sure.

I can make you a world renowned DJ in 7 steps. You won’t need much talent, if any. As long as you have ears and are able to bullshit convincingly, you’ll do just fine. Being somewhat computer literate helps too, but you can always get someone to do it for you. It won’t be virtuous, but it will be easy.
And that’s all that matters, right?
Step 0: Be A Hot Girl.
This obviously is out of your hands, but it helps massively. In an industry dominated by men, being at least a little bit pretty is going to send you places. Don’t listen to those that say that if you are a hot girl you’ll be ridiculed by everyone you meet because everyone will automatically think that you’re ditzy; in this case it’s true, so be glad you’re around such observant people.
Step 1: Branding
Get a Myspace. Make it look clean, with one or two bright colours and with a nice bold font with your DJ name in. You have a name, right? No?
Well, go into your kitchen and grab the nearest thing to you. Write it’s name down, than take the vowels out and capitalize it (e.g refrigerator becomes RFRGRTR, blender becomes BLNDR). You’ll sound well cool, trust me.
Finally, make a logo to upload. If you’re out of ideas, get someone to take your photo with your hand/random object over your face.

I got sent some free music today, which is fucking awesome. It came from Australian trio Biploar Badwise. I’ll hold my hand up and say that I’ve never heard of them before, but I imagine you’ll be hearing a lot of them in the future. Sounding a bit like the love child of Cut Copy, Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys (which is convenient, as they list their influences as just that), they continue a trend of excellent Australian bands who all possess that signature sound.
